Bisita Iglesia is a Filipino tradition that is believed to be a form of penitence on Maundy Thursday. This is done by visiting 7 churches and offering prayers to Him. During this day also, the Blessed Sacrament is carried in procession to an "altar of repose" away from the main body of the church. The altar should be decorated with at least four or six candles or lamps in order to create an ambiance of silence for meditation.
Let me share with you the churches that my family and I visited around San Juan and Mandaluyong for this Bisita Iglesia.
